TEACHER TRAINING

Today's classrooms need to equip children with healthy mindsets and a positive approach to education. This is particularly the case in areas such as rural Nepal, where access to education is often limited. Unfortunately, corporal punishment continues to be practiced in some schools in Nepal, and teachers use traditional teaching methods that do not effectively engage students. Karma Flights aims to tackle this issue by working with teachers in rural Nepal, training them and empowering them to be effective agents of change in their schools.

KarmaFlights is a non-profit organisation, based in Nepal. Education brings great opportunity to individuals, and increased stability and strength to a developing nation. But not only students need development, teachers do too! With that in mind, KarmaFlights hosts and sponsors, together with Netherlands-based KPZ University, a teacher-training seminar each year. This year's focus points and workshops, include: - Competence & Autonomy in the Classroom - Positive Reinforcement & Ethical Punishment - Developing a Lesson Plan - Effective Teacher Behaviour - Linguistics Instruction The 40 participant teachers, will bring this wealth of valuable knowledge back to their home schools, and share their learning with their colleagues. From building schools, computer labs and libraries, to providing scholarships and teacher-training seminars, KarmaFlights supports children, with every step they take. Help us build a stronger future for Nepal, visit www.KarmaFlights.org to see how you can get involved!

KarmaFlights has partnered with a local NGO, National Foundation for Skilled Development of Teachers (NFORSDT), as well as KPZ University in The Netherlands to develop an effective teacher training program. Teachers who participate in the program learn how to bring new teaching techniques into their classrooms that reject corporal punishment and take into account different learning styles. In this way, KarmaFlights empowers teachers to provide high quality education.
